I don't claim to be a boxing judge, but I had the fight a draw at 6-6. There were a number of close rounds. I don't have a problem with the fight going to Povetkin and I wouldn't have had a problem with the fight going to Huck.

In the first few rounds, Povetkin showed that he is a better boxer than Huck. It looked like he ran out of gas pretty fast, which may have had something to do with Huck. Huck has a right hand and that's it. No head movement, no combination punching, very little body work etc. If Povetkin could have figured out how to avoid that right hand, it would have been an easy night for him.

The cards weren't as bad as the Cloud-Campillo cards or the card of the one judge that gave the Donaire-Vasquez fight to Vasquez.

I would take Seth Mitchell over Povetkin right now. Also Adamek would more than likely stop Povetkin as well.
    no chance

adamek couldnt even come anywhere near to stopping kevin mcbride

    massively overrated

I don't know about massively overrated. Power is overrated. Adamek moves well for a heavyweight so he has the ability to beat plodders. Povetkin and Huck don't move well at all. Plus their head movement is non-existant. Adamek could win a decision on the cards against either one--the same as he did against a fat Arreola. I was a little dismayed that Adamek decided to fight a journeman in Aguilera for his comeback fight, but he is coming off a bad loss against Vitali. It would be good to see him in against Povetkin, Huck, Pulev, Boystov etc. I hope he doesn't resign to only facing journeymen, if not the Klitschkos. He needs to face a tough challenge to earn another fight against the Klitschko's.

I had it for Povetkin 116-112....good fight and great atmospher....and this is pretty unusual in Germany (:

Huck did very well but a little one dimenstional and fouled too many times for me...Povetkin more polished and landed more eye catching flurries...yes Hucks punches were more hurtfull but not enough to win him the fight

job biscuit (Chisora was in the crowd)!!!

    eh eh!!!

adamek beat arreola yes in a very close fight, where an injury decided it

there is no way adamek would KO provetkin, and provetkin has good skills and can be quite fast, i would firmly put my money on him in a fight between the two

There is no way Adamek ko's Povetkin, but Adamek could outbox Povetkin and win on volume. Povetkin has a good punch. However, he had trouble with Huck in Huck's first fight as a heavyweight. I was disappointed in his performance against Huck as I expected him to thoroughly win. Povetkin's stamina didn't look good. His movement seemed off. He appeared to be gassed by the mid rounds. He looked much better against Boswell, but that could be because Huck is better than Boswell.

i think he was gassed after about 3 rounds

i dont think that fight was a very good representation of how good provetkin is

he seemed a bit chubby on the night too, i kinow he isnt a ripped fighter but he seemed to come in heavy, i dunno how his weight compares with other fights

honestly i think he just got something wrong, in preparation or in the training or on the night

if the two fought again i think provetkin would do a much better job

Povetkin is listed as 6 ft 2 on boxrec. Huck is listed as 6 ft 1 1/2. Honestly they looked the same damn height at the weigh in. Povetkin is 6 ft 2 max. He always weighs around 230. He has never been in shape.

Huck weighed 210, Povetkin 229. But the difference in bodyfat was big. I'd guess Povetkin's bodyfat is at least 4-5% higher than Huck. Honestly the difference in lean body mass between the 2 is not much.

Povetkin needs to understand that heavyweights used to be in very good shape. Even George Foreman was weighing 215 early in his career. he was weighing 225 when he fought Frazier and Ali. He is a bigger guy than Povetkin.

it isn't as if extra fat helps you beat Wlad or Vitali. Handspeed, quickness, stamina.
