I'm sick of people who want this world to be perfect. It never will be. Actually, the way we go about it makes the world worse. A scuffle is a scuffle, and it should end at that.

They are boxers who have a responsibility to act like role models that they are.

If that was in the street they would be arrested that is why Haye has ran to Las Vegas.

Boxing is like a new ceiling there's always a chance the rain will seep through an undetected leak.

Boxing is arguably the world's most corrupt sport. It is filled will all kinds of crooks - murderers, abusers, thieves, rapists etc. One tussle between a couple of meatheads and their entourages will do literally no damage to this joke of an institution.

how can you possibly believe it's a boxer's responsibility to be a role model?

they make a living beating the shit out of each other and make a little money if they're really good. meanwhile, other people make lots of money off them hurting each other.
judges are often incompetent or corrupt. refs are often incompetent or corrupt. the titles are bullshit. your promoter is probably screwing you, his accountant too. its a massively crooked business...but despite the mess that is professional boxing, somewhere in there you think its a boxer's obligation to be an angel.

some kind of beacon of hope for who? for the children?

now if a boxer is a good upstanting individual who lives life right and is a role model great! good people are wonderful and the world would be amazing place if everyone were role models where we'd all live in harmony and life would just be so grand. but...i don't think its a boxer's responsibility to be that way.

elected officials, police, civil servants, teachers, ministers etc...they have a responsibility to set a good example.

how can you honestly say i just paid $55 to watch those two guys fight each other but the 2 punch dust up at the press conference was inappropriate and offensive, a disgrace to the sport.

If you do not know and understand why then there is nothing I can really say that will make you change your mind, but I will try:-

Boxing is more than 2 thugs beating each other up. It is a discipline and an art that takes years to perfect to be the best. These two are up there with the best and are high profile role models and ambassadors for the sport. There are people that look up to them. There are critics of boxing who want it banned and this further strengthens their case and finally there could have been a serious injury, if this is allowed to happen with no punishment then there will be a lot more of it and in the worse case scenario it could end up like wresting.

A fighter as a role model, most fighters come from the inner cities and high crime area's and act the part. Which fighters should I have my kids look up to.?? LOL

Every person has the responsibility to act as a person should act. Some people fall short. No big deal, you just have to let them deal with their own consequences. They bite themselves in the ass. They don't need us to do it for them.

It's a learning process. They should have been arrested. Chisora was. Haye is a lady, and can't handle being in trouble of any sort, so of course he would run to Las Vegas.

We expect people to be perfect. We can't do that. We've all got our flaws.

They are role models whether they like it or not, they are high profile professional boxers. I am not saying they make good role models but B Hop coming from jail is an inspiration, the talent of Floyd should inspire people, the impact of Pacquiau is huge. Not to mention greats like Ali.

Inspiration and role model is two different things, just because someone has some talent
at anything does not make them a role model. Bhop, Floyd, ALI, Pac as role models, you must be crazy, not one of them could ever be a role model.

Racists + convicts + adulterers make great role models, maybe for you but not anyone I know.
