lout is typically only heard in papers with the pre-fix, larger lout.
I have not heard anyone being called a sod since I was a kid, and that was protect my precious ears from foul languageshame it didn't work.

Sod is pretty similar to 'shit' in the way it's used. You could substitute shit for sod in all of the following phrases: Little shit, naughty shit, cheeky shit.... It's used to describe somebody that is mischievious in some way.
