Cotto knock's down Mayweather in the 4th, Mayweather goes on from there not losing a round after.

Apparently Floyd wants 8oz gloves not 10oz gloves....that may make Floyd have quicker hands, but a little less defense and IMO it makes Cotto's punches harder

Wow that would be a serious diffrence considering Floyd's gloves are usually puffy and fat. Where did you hear this?

It was on boxingscene. Apparently Floyd feels a little resentful for having to wear what he called "heavyweight gloves" vs De la Hoya and I guess he thinks he could have done better with smaller gloves.

All I can tell you is Cotto is a BRUTAL puncher with smaller gloves, look at his opponents at 140-147, they constantly had damage from those big left hooks.

Not making any excuses for Miguel but his skin pretty much tears up here pretty fast, but I do believe he is nowhere near getting dazed or stunned here, he can take PBF's shots. I do hope its a firefight that's Cotto's only chance

I've also heard the 8oz glove rumour and if it's true then I think Floyd is gunning for a KO win here.

Cotto was a burtal body puncher. Key word being was. Them days are over. He doesnt attack the body like before cuz he's wary of being countered upstairs. His once savage body attack was non-existant against Pacquiao and Margarito. I don't see it being a factor against Mayweather

OK....so you just think from 1 to 12 this is a total shutout? I think Cotto matches up fairly well, he'll at least give it a solid go for 5 rounds before he starts slowing down however the fight is going....I would be shocked if Floyd got to him any earlier. Floyd could be making a big mistake by not having a catchweight, believing Cotto's best is past him, and not trusting that Cotto is a solid BOXER as well as power puncher. Cotto has been hit with a lot before and always fought on...Floyd will have to wear him down make him chase, and coounter him. Cotto has been stopped 2 times once vs a cheater with loaded wraps and second at a catchweight and sans trainer. Cotto still has Pedro Diaz, a well respected trainer who really helped him do a number on Margarito...you never can tell when a fighter can get a second wind in his career.

Just because Cotto doesn't attack the body as aggressively as before doesn't mean he lacks power. Power and timing are key for Cotto...he will be outsped and be fighting a guy with better stamina, but he can change all that with a few punches. If Cotto hurts Floyd like Mosley and Zab did there WILL be a knockdown and perhaps a knockout.

Kind of an odd thing. I don't really understand Mayweather's position that he wants 8 oz? He had the postion of wanting 10oz and fight at 154lbs against Pacquiao. With a his hostory of hand problems one would think he'd like the extra padding.

Anyone know if the commission just weighs the gloves, supplies the gloves or checks to see if there is a correct amount of layers and type of padding over the fist? I would think it's easy for the manufacture to add weight just about anywhere if someone wanted a custom glove. I would also think that the different manufactures each have thier own padding methods around the fist and different methods of balancing a gloves weight depending on the hand size. I've seen written descriptions about gloves in the rules write up but never anything that details specific material and padding layer requirements for the different size gloves. Only general statements.
