Sick Leave

Im feeling a bit sad now Seems plenty of people are unable to take sick days off as they wont get paid. Some wont out of a sense of duty, I understand it but I could never do it, at least not working for someone else anyway.

Im still off, cant remember ever taking a whole week off sick but I think its going to happen. Ive been sick for a few days before and taken a week just for the sake of it but never actually been sick for a week.

I was off last month for a week through food poisoning. Bloody hate taking time off as we dont get paid when off sick which is a bummer!!

I used to work at Orange many years ago and they had a great policy which paid sick days, in fact ya were paid a max of 21 sick days per year. Well that was open to abuse I can tell ya. Not only did ya get 4 weeks hols a year but a further 21 days Sick!

Thats been the setup in the last two places I've worked mate. 3 strike rule, anything more than 3 strikes of sickness and questions would start to get asked, a strike could be a day or a week or more.

No ones going to take a strike for 1 days worth of sickness, might as well stay home for a week.

lol, Yea Orange did change their policy when France Telecom bought them, and they introduced the 3 strike rule, thats when I ended up leaving
