I used to think like you too. But if you actually look at who Taylor was beating compared with the BDO field in that particular year, you'll find almost EVERY current top PDC player was in the BDO.

Taylor is the best ever without doubt. But there is NO WAY he wins that many "world" titles with one governing body.

He will never get the recognition because the sport is darts but has any other sportsman EVER achieved what he has and continued to raise the bar 20 years later ??

He is still consistent - more so than any one else in the field - but now very capable of having a bad night when things not going his way as he puts pressure on himself
