Re: I banned Bilbo at his request
There's 2 sides to this one:
That guys has been to hell and back - worse things than you can possibly imagine. As a result of the drug he took when having Chemo he has Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease which will kill him. So I have massive sympathy.
I have spoken to him about the 'not working' whilst climbing mountains thing, because that was really winding me up. The fact is like it or not it's the system that is fucked. He got a part time job and it changed his health status (which was/is permenantly unfit to work due to a terminal illness) He was even advised by the benefits office that he would be vastly worse off if he worked. For all his talk about gyms and mountains, his health is up and down (often admitted to hospital with respitory problems) so he cannot work full time and come off benefits. In an ideal world, I would say take a part time job and lose some benefits, but in the real world who's gonna do that if the system is fucking you for trying to get off your ass!
