Steve Holdsworth is the main man....knows his stuff and dos'nt talk garbage like most commentators seem to do

Also Richie Woodhall is a no nonsense commentator who knows is stuff also

I also like Antonio Tarver and Al Bernstein

Jim Watt is ok but too many 10-10 rounds for my liking...lol

Job Biscuit (also Emmanual Stewart is ok)!!!

    eh eh!!!

Currently: Max Kellerman, Steve Farhood and Al Bernstein.

Speaking of Larry Merchant, I recently read an article he wrote in 1968 called "Beethoven to Boxing" about the boxing fandom of David Amram, a jazz composer, that changed my view on him. It's in a great book on boxing, I recommend highly, called: "At the Fights: American Writers on Boxing," edited by George Kimball and John Schulian. Merchant, at least was, or is, depending on how you look at it, a great boxing pundit.

I don't really have a favourite but guys who have actually fought make better commentators, guys like Roy Jones are good commentators. Roy should retire and become a commentator on HBO.
From the HBO team I like Max Kellerman and the sky sports guys aren't bad apart from Jim Watt.

Yeah I tend to agree with this, guys like Tyson & Tarver always point out good things

As much as I personally disliked Howard Cosell, he did call some great fights. As for a favorite I don't know that I really have one at the moment, they're all pretty annoying at times.

    Al Bernstein.

    He's always been my favourite.

I just love his voice & the way he analyses the bouts.

I grew up with Reg and Harry so for me they will never be beaten.

Apart from Ian Darke I don't really now know any of the UK commentators now by name (although I am very familiar with their voices). Only time I heard kellerman was in the Dixon v Balboa fight. Merchant for me is an institution and I can't do with the criticsim he gets - he has earned the right to say what he wants goddamnitt !

I know all the co-commentators of course and like Woodhall who for me is just an all round decent honest bloke. The only fighter I have seen who admitted he had been beaten in his career when he got gifted a decision (think it was against Glenn Catley but not sure). Jonny Nelson is a good bloke too.

Really liked Foreman and Merchant together, even though they argued I thought it made for good commentary, always thought Roy was damn good, especially when he notices things that the other commentators dont. I guess for me it is more about the relationship/rapport between certain commentators than it is the individual. I would be really interested to hear Merchant, Jones, and Tarver call a fight together as I think it would make for an interesting dynamic.

Paul Smith on Box Nation is very good as a co-commentator.

    Ian Darke.

I don't like Adam Smith, because his voice annoys me.
