Lyle, not sure if you get iPlayer in the USA, but listen to the Danny Baker show on Saturday morning...they actually have the sausage sandwich game, which generally involves asking celebrities whether they prefer Red Sauce (ketchup), brown sauce or no sauce.

Personally, it depends on the quality of the sausage. If it's a butcher's sausage that has high quality meat and some interesting spice / ingredient combinations, then I'll usually go for no sauce.

However, if we're talking about the bog standard banger made from mashed up hooves, tail and gristle, brown sauce is perfect.

I think Lyle needs to come to England and stop in a layby on a shit day for a breakfast bap from a dirty food van with lashings of tommy K of a drop of brown.

Nothing better than food from a guy in a layby who has a certificate from the council to prove that he washes his hands after having a piss behind his mobile kitchen.

You can find good hot dogs, you just have to go to a good hot dog place. There's a great place here that makes their own hot dogs and sausages. Mustard, onions, maybe sliced tomato, jalapeno, kraut, pickles, etc. No ketchup and no chili, not a big fan of chili dogs. Or chili-cheese dogs, for most places that's just a good sign that our hot dogs are shit so lets cover them in chili and cheese so you can't taste them. Plus its just too much.

Good turkey, avocado, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mustard, mayonnaise, good roll or bread. Solid.

Who the fuck puts tomato sauce on a roast dinner? Seriously... none of us have ever seen that. Fact.

Last two years or so its been based on a smoked or roasted turkey, thin sliced and stacked-folded over on toasted wheat bread. thin sliced roma or Creole tomato's. A couple of Dill pickle 'stacker's' OR a few cucumber slices and grated mozzarella or cheddar cheese topped with thick leaf of lettuce. Mustard!

Been doing alot of tuna fish too. Some salsa sauce, pepper, diced tomato & spinach all mixed. Toasted wheat and a fat slice of swiss cheese!

Back in the smoked out days PB&J, crunchy, with huge handful of cool ranch Doritos in between bread and pressed together or a grilled cheese(s) on Texas Toast with ham and buttered. Shit I'm hungry!!

This is a good thread. I can't wait to come home and get myself to the bakery. I could murder a ham sandwich right now. Plain and simple like all the best things in life. Heaven.

Mmmm, I don't go there very often but there's a van in the Brecon Beacons near Pen-y-Fan which does an amazing fry up bap. I'm drooling just thinking of black pudding.
