He was. Reminds me of a true story about how cool and funny he was.

One morning he got a call that said all hell was about to break loose, because during the night a Queens guard had been caught in Hyde park by the local constabulary having homosexual relations with an undisclosed male.

Churchill said " It was near freezing conditions out last night wasn't it?"

His secretary said "yes Sir it was."

All Churchhill replied with was: "Sort of makes you proud to be British doesnt it".
