Jubilee

We have a long weekend next week celebrating the queens Jubilee. I remember 1977 at school celebrating, not that I am a royalist but it was an excuse you have a good time.

What are other people doing?

having a nice five day weekend - not drinking at moment so will be interesting

have vague memories of 1977. Seem to remember my mum taking to see queen as I'm sure she came to Leeds. I could be wrong

How come you got 5 days off, we all the weekend and Monday and Tuesday?

It's a shame I am not home at that time as I would likely try to incite some public unrest.

Jubilee schmuk. I deplore it all and wish Brits would get some backbone on these representations of all that is undemocratic about our system.

Having actually been there and in honour of the Pistols magnificent tirade against English dreamers from the 1977 Jubilee I shall be celebrating the Jubilee of our her Maj. Like the Pistols, and "I mean it"

Have you ever even been on a demonstration? Incite some public unrest? these are the empty words of an armchair politician. did "they make you a moron"?

I shall be following the advice of Mr Lydon and having a nice picnic, weather permitting.

For me its either Torquay, Southend or a Street Party at the end of my road.

I hate the Queen, I really do. I would much prefer it if Britain was a republic rather than the undemocratic nation that it is. The Queen does not represent me, nor my interests. In fact she endorses policies and programmes that I am vehemently against.

I see Yahoo now has a jubilee section on its main page. The propaganda is sickening.

I will stand proud as a patriotic Englishman by saying that the Russians had the right idea when it came to dealing with a monarchy.

I used to hate anything to do with the royal family, not a fan now but as I have grown up I have come to appreciate the fact they are born in to that life they haven't chose it. I don't like or dislike them, I just accept it.

People will never rock the boat in this country, the riots last year are as bad as it will get. As long as there's NHS, dole, other countless benefits, minimum wage, free housing etc everybody will be happy to go along with what the government says.

Most people know which side their bread is buttered.
