I thought Roy was promoting a fight in Poland, so thought he would have seen the fight out as contracted.

Roy Jones is fighting next week in Poland against Dawid Kostecki at 175. Maybe after this he will retire
I saw Ringside today and they said he has retired but keep hearing he is fighting soon.
Which is it?![]()
Quite honestly I thought those were pretty good wins all things considered how terribly shot Jones has been for years now. I was happy when he schooled Lacy and looked like his old self minus his legs.
If Jones is to retire before or after this fight against a journeyman it doesn't much matter just as long as he does finally retire.
He's the most talented fighter of all time hands down and its time he stopped pissing on his legacy and endangering his life by fighting far far too long.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
The biggest mistake of Roy Jones career was fighting John Ruiz, it ruined him coming back down to Light Heavy again. It wasn't his chin that was weak after this fight it was his legs and at 35 years old at the time this was just to much for his body to re-adjust too. Look what weight reduction did to Oscar against the Pacman. Ego got the better of Roy Jones jr and he thought he was invincible, he probably was throughout the 90's. Had he fought Calzaghe in 2000 for example i doubt if Joe Balls would win a round!
Roy Jones jr should've retired after Tarver 2! He was shot to bits after that fight.
I have a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue that I been saving since 2006, if this is true that bottle will be drained and gone tonight.

Roy Jones Jr. can't retire. Roy Jones Jr. is an ageless clone. 'nuff said.![]()
Ageless? Who the fuck have you been watching the last few years?![]()
It was a great win, one of the best in boxing history, but what does it profit a man to gain the world but lose your soul? Jones jr didn't lose his soul literally to boxing, but boxing was definitely lost to him after this fight. Jones proved his point to himself and to all of us fans, he alone has to weigh up the cost of it. I wonder if he really thinks it was worth it? I hope he has a good solid life in retirement without any major complications, continuing on for so long after Tarver 2 could not be good for his long term health.
he's 99% fighting Pawel Glazewski in Poland next week
