I hear what you are saying but the entire planet knows who actually won the fight and in addition there really is no money in it and lets be honest...Arum wont allow this.

If Floyd is truly concerned for legacy at this point then he will make a play for Martinez at the 155 catch that Sergio offered and get the man at middle.

Apart from a nice paycheque for both guys I dont see the point in a rematch. It was a comfortable win for Floyd and it was a good fight but not great.
We would just see more of the same. Theres no unanswered questions.

Im sure they would play on the Floyd spell in prison where he lost weight so it mus mena that it would be more equal next time but Im not buying that theory. Floyds too quick and skilled for Cotto. Miguel had his moments and I actaully think he did better when he was trying to outbox Floyd. In round 6 he was making the older man walk forward onto his shots and that was his best round but he fell into the trap of frsutration and tried to corner flotyd which is the mistake everyone makes.

I think Mayweather has slowed down but not enough to lose to Cotto.

I would love to this Floyd fight Martinez, but not at a cathweight.
I would much rather have Floyd attempt that fight at 160 and go for being the first undefeated fighter winning world titles in six divisions, as Roger has stated Floyd would like to do before he retires.
If not that, then Martinez is thinking about going back down to 154 lbs after the Chavez fight.
Martinez vs Mayweather is the best fight in boxing at this time IMO.

Could not agree more especially with the no catch weight part. I only mentioned it cause it was offered

The only logic of this fight is that Floyd will need to worry himself with fitness and doesn't want to have to worry about tactics.

It's always interesting that when a fighter gets well on their way to being old they suddenly find an affinity for rematches.

That would be great if Floyd can win a title at middleweight. But let's be honest, won't happen. Especially after JJr destroy Martinez in Sept. Maybe Floyd fight Strum. The lesser of the division like RJJ did when he fought Ruiz at heavyweight. No matter who, you can't take that accomplishment away from him.

Mayweather will get good numbers with a rematch but not as good as the first encounter. #1 it's not on May 1st. #2 it's not expected to be a good match up. Personally I'd rather see a rematch with Ortiz than seeing one against Cotto. Only I wouldn't expect Ortiz to get any smarter.
