Except for it being really hot here in the Summers, the weather is nice here in East Texas. We do get an occasional hurricane, and tornadoes here, which are accompanied by huge amounts of driving torrential rain. You might have read about Galveston, Texas getting demolished by a Hurricane a few years ago, that's only about 150 miles from where I live.

That being said, I love the rain, the wind, lighting and flooding that usually comes with heavy rain is the destructive part, but if it isn't doing that, I work outside on my property and go for long walks in the rain. I spent Sunday (yesterday) in light rain, building part of a new fence around my property, I stayed cool and enjoyed being rained on. (Miles won't like this thread)

I reckon we'll get a hurricane this season. The weather is too hot not to get one. We had 100 degree weather over the weekend (I still played 2 matches of soccer) and usually August is our worst month for the heat. We've had some violent storms here because fo the heat, but I welcome them, they cool things down and of course there's nothing better than relaxing during a summer afternoon thunderstorm.

Yup, I did that yesterday, we had a nice shower that lasted several hours and dropped the temps down to 73, you can't beat that in July here in Texas. I couldn't resist burning some incense, having a few cold brews, listening to some good old classic rock, and watching the Storm from my "mancave". (garage)

When I was in college I made a habit of sittng on the porch with an adult beverage or 12 and enjoying the sights & sounds of the lightning & thunder and the cool misty breeze that the rain brought along....that and snow days are my absolute favorites. Very relaxing, so long as you've got nowehere to be.

I do love watching the heavy rain as long as I am indoors. It is beautiful and cleansing.

I loved the rain until I moved to a place where it is grey, overcast, and rainy 10 months out of the year. Fuck rain.

Haha, my hometown gets as much rain as Seattle. I understand you, but I only hate rain when its like 34 degrees outside....though you probably get that a lot too

I've been caught out in the rain in both Jamaica and The Seychelles, both times everyone else ran inside like pathetic tourists and both times I was absolutely compelled to stay out and marvel at the serenity that the rain had created.

    Very spiritual moments.

A storm passed by here bringing deluge of rain along with it and so I'm forced back home. I like rains - if it didn't come with so much muds; they're just real bad on the shoes...

I'm stranded home by the rains again, they call 'em monsoons in this part of the world and they're pretty nasty. It's wet all over, flooded all around...

It's still officially a summer season so after the rains, it's been sunny here too for the last couple of days now, and at the long last, we've been able to burn our garbages - that's how we dispose our garbages here.
