He should be little smug, did I read spoiler out there yesterday? Andre has spoiled, ruined, stomped on, upset, disregarded and disrespected a bunch of people's plan's over last couple of years. He did what he said he was going to do, and with as little trash talk as possible. Andre is one of the good guys, you remember them, the ones who let their fists do the talking. He speaks softly and carries a big stick. Andre is that person everybody is always talking about, THE MAN! Go ahead, Mr Ward, be as smug as you want to be!

Gotta say, he bores me stiff. Dull personality, monotone, no smile or humour and zero fan appeal. I'd certainly question whether EVERYONE talks about him otherwise he'd be a big ticket seller for Vegas. He isn't and won't be unless sometime he is hit by lighting to give him a jolt. Might do a poll on here after the Ward Dawson fight to see how many people had a near death experience through boredom at watching the fight.

You know, your right, but, as is, he'll never really earn adulation from boxing fans world wide IMO. In such a fan friendly sport, the way fighters need to connect with fans, he just doesn't seem to do it for me at all....

It will just have to be a long-term thing. As has been said countless times, the closest model is Hopkins. He got his adulation in his 40s. (He had his accolades before, for sure, from the Trinidad/ODLH fights, etc., but it was begrudging because of his fan-unfriendly style -- much like Ward.)
