    Default What's next for Haye

Sadly I was unable to see the fight. It wasn't televised here. Not a Haye fan... but I was interested in seeing the fight after all the trash-talking had turned the fight into a grudge match. But it appears Haye was dominating the fight, before he then KO'ed Chisora in the 5th.

So what now? Haye fans will ride the wave of euphoria to say Haye should fight either Klitschko next. But IMO, Haye does not deserve another shot at Wladimir. At least not yet. He had his chance... and threw it away in the ugliest fashion. It's up to Vitali if he wants to give him a shot next. Then again... Haye has yet to fight any of the top heavyweights out there, other than Wlad. And that was a disgraceful showing. His resume reads: "Beat Valuev, beat Ruiz, lost to Wlad, beat Chisora." How about the other, probably more deserving heavyweights? The ones who have paid their dues? Arreola, Boytsov, Helenius, etc.

It's not unreasonable to ask that Haye work his way through at least a couple of these guys, before getting another shot at a Klitschko... preferably Vitali first. Haye shouldn't get any preferential treatment due to his big mouth and salesmanship. He should earn his shots... just like everybody else. And when he gets a shot and fucks it up royally...... back of the line for you.

So what should be Haye's next step? (Assuming, of course, that he doesn't throw a hissy fit if he doesn't get Vitali next and decides to "retire".)

What stands out in your post is that there really aren't any other deserving guys.. If Haye does want to keep on fighting for a while I'd like to see him against Arreola, as that is the only other Heavy who'd even want to fight Wladimir this year I suspect. Boystov hasn't earned anything, and Helenius got a complete gift against Chisora before being sidelined with a serious injury, he has a lot more work to do than Haye(He also sucks). Haye is a bit of a tool out of the ring, but he is a talent and doesn't really have any roadblocks to fighting either Klitschko if you take away the personal dislike for him. I mean look what Vitali and Wladimir are left with as alternate plans.. I've never even heard of the guy Vitali is supposed to fight next, and Wladimir just rematched Tony Thompson ffs. I think Vitali-Haye is the best fight possible for the division at the moment, it is what it is.

Haye must deserve a fight with a with one of them. He just beat chisora on every round then knocked him out. Vitali couldn't!

Arreola is more deserving at the moment, granted he lost every round to vk if I remember but he gave it an honest go. Since then he's gotten himself in shape and stayed busy I feel like he's fought four or five times since, in my eyes more deserving than haye at the moment. I know ya said pulev is shit in another thread but I quite like him, have him and haye fight next...

In a nutshell, Haye doesn't deserve a shot at Vitali, but he'll probably get one because Vitali stands to make his biggest payday ever, so my guess is, Vitali will be licking his chops. Brit fanboys will spend millions again on a PPV thinking their hero has a chance, and Vitali can kick Haye's ass in a one-sided mismatch and ride off into the sunset with $20 million + in his hip pocket.

He has to come to America first. Bigger name = bigger pay checks.

I was unable to watch it either as I was out fishing with my two pups and the day blew by but in the future TF just ask me for a stream via PM.

Haye should fight Adamek. Winner gets another kick at one of the cats. I broke at this point and watched Garcia stop Khan. Chisora looked way better then he was against flailing tree trunks like Vitali and Helenius and was doomed to failure style wise against Haye. It was not that hard a prediction. The Nordic Nightmare is going to wait the division out just like Boystov. Chris and Povetkin. The Klits have nobody left to fight.

It kinda is in this sorry ass division.

    He will play for Vitali.

Agree with this post 100%. To the poster above saying Haye ought to fight Adamek in an eliminator -- Adamek is garbage at HW. He got outclassed by Chambers in his last fight and only won because Chambers lost an arm in R1. I can't believe how overrated Adamek is.

If anyone, Arreola should get the eliminator against Haye, but what's the point? Haye would be (justly) favored and he's the much bigger money ticket for the Klitchkos anyway.

The likely progression is Haye vs. Vitali; if Vitali is so past it that he loses that fight (possible at his age and given how he's looked recently), we get a rematch with Wlad that is actually more built up than the first one. And then David Haye proceeds to spoil and loses 120-108 again and retires for the second time (another $40M richer).

If the Klits will fight mormeck, thompson and Chisora they'll fight Haye.

Whether he deserves it or not the klits have shown they don't mind obliging undeserving opponents.

If I can get the fight, I'll probably watch it. Meanwhile, my last memory of a Haye fight was the pitiful show he put forth against Wlad. Speculating about Haye's future in the division can be done without having watched the Chisora fight. Don't be so fucking defensive about everything Haye and Calzaghe. You're becoming tiringly predictable.

    Haye will fight Vitali.

It's the biggest fight in heavyweight boxing by a mile.

Which Haye will show up to fight Vitali, if the fight comes off?
    "Chisora" Haye? or "Wlad" Haye?

    Probably the "Wlad" Haye

The only time Haye has ever looked poor in his entire career was against men that are MUCH bigger than him.

If you're a similar size to Haye he knocks you out.
