Like I said in another thread, this training was all wrong.

Khan is a boxer, sharp hitter with fast hands, so he should be training and sparring to maximide those strengths. He is a bit chinny, so WHY WHY WHY is he sparring like he's in a war. This is one of the reasons he can't fight hurt, he stands in front of his opponent and gets involved in a slugfest every time he is hurt. He shouldn't do it when he's fresh, never mind when he's out on his feet.

You want your sparring to exactly mimic what you expect to do in the ring (so it's different for each fighter you face). That way, you have muscle memory of what you need to do and you can automatically fall back on that if you get your head scrambled during the fight.

Very very poor decision making in training, and I'm surprised that went on at this level. I don't think Roach spent much time with Khan for this one.
