Re: The 2012 London Olympic Games
Few highlights for today.
SAILING (14:00): Ben Ainslie, Finn class
Ainslie has been involved in a dramatic battle with Denmark's Jonas Hogh-Christensen all week and he goes into Sunday's decisive Finn medal race knowing a fourth gold medal is tantalisingly close. Iain Percy and Andrew Simpson might be a safer bet (13:00) for Britain having dominated the Star class.
TENNIS (14:00): Andy Murray, men's singles and mixed doubles
Murray returns to Centre Court for another crack at Roger Federer just four weeks after losing the Wimbledon final to the Swiss star, and as in Grand Slams the Olympic final will also be played over five sets. Murray could end the day as a double Olympic champion as he then teams up with Laura Robson to play Max Mirnyi and Victoria Azarenka in the mixed doubles final.
TRACK CYCLING (10:00-18:47): Ed Clancy, men's omnium
Clancy will start the second and final day of the multi-discipline omnium in fourth place after winning the flying lap, finishing 11th in the points race and fifth in the elimination race on Saturday. With his stronger events to come in the individual pursuit (10:00), scratch race (17:01) and time trial (18:16), a medal is a real possibility.
GYMNASTICS (15:41): Louis Smith, apparatus finals
Smith won bronze on the pommel horse in Beijing and is a candidate for gold in London after finishing top in qualification with one of the most difficult routines in the world.
