The US has one guy left Errol Spence in the Welterweight divison and he got re-instated after a bad decision got overturned.
Other nations have caught up with the US, also the Cubans are not as dominant as they used to be. However I don't think those Kazaks, Turks, Ukraineans or them other European nations that seem to dominant the amateur scene would do much in the pro arena
I'm shocked at the lack of fitness of some the boxers. They are out of gas by round three a lot of them. A lot of it seems a bit too hurried and throw as many punches as you can kinda thing, it's far removed from the top quality pro's where it's more measured, more clincal, but they are amateurs for a reason. I suppose but I am stil loving watching it
I do rate this Spence kid. Maybe he could do what Andre Ward did in Athens 04 and win gold. Yes the US is not as strong as it once was but the amateur team in the last 20 years has still produced the likes of Mayweather, De La Hoya, Jermain Taylor, Andre Ward and there is the upcoming Deontay Wilder in the heavies, so it's not all bad
