That 1984 US team was AMAZING in that they ALL won at least silver and then most went on to have great pro careers

That was a hell of a team....Here is something I didn't know...I though Evander won bronze?....Don't know why ....It just happened to be one of those things that come along seldom...We have had so man good guy's who became legends or at least P4P fighters over the years from the Olympic team...Ali, Foreman, DLH, Taylor to name a few but never so man good guys at one time

Pretty sure Holyfield was disqualified in the semifinal. Landed a punch out of a clinch or after the bell, can't remember that pretty much KO'd the guy that used to be Tua's trainer, maybe his name was Berry, I think?

Holyfield was unlucky, he was murdering the guy. In fact during the prelims he stood out as the best prospects to win something as a pro in my opinion.

man have any of u guys seen the 84 us hw selection trials tyson vs tillman,he was f...ing ripped ,tyson nearly chased him out of the ring both times and a kd...he was cheated out of a gold medal,,fook i hate amature scoring/judging

Actually Henry Tillman eliminated Mike Tyson. Tillman beat Mike TWICE in the amateurs.....only to go on to get WHUPPED by Tyson in 1 round in the pros.

Actually the Amatuer scoring methods have improved a lot but either way it is effective it teachs a fighter something...The clean punch scoring is better than agressor, ring generalship ect crap.....It helps eliminate many of the hometown decision losses ( except when it is very close) It also makes a guy fight and not go for the one punch knockout scoring.....Makes fighters more well rounded...Offense and defense...My guys hav3e been on the short end a few times in the Amatuers not saying it doesn't happen but It is more for the better than worse..
