I'm interested in learning as much as I can about the classical boxing stance used by fighters such as Charles Burley, Archie Moore, I want to learn the pro's and con's of such a stance. How to effectively use techniques like the rising jab and shoulder roll from it. I then plan to take what I learn and try it out in the gym. I'm a 17 year old senior in highschool who currently is taking Muay Thai and what to take things from the old school style of boxing and apply it to Muay Thai and possibly MMA in the future. My style of fighting is a bit close to Dutch Kickboxing.
I feel that the way that old-schoolers fought is the proper way. I want to learn as much as I can from their footwork to their punches. This video is what sparked everything for me: "Charley Burley: Analyzing Genius " (I cant post links, so please youtube that vid)
When explaining things it would probably be best to do it in the context of boxing, then add a side-note for its effectiveness in Muay Thai and/or MMA.
Thank you all for your time.
