DeMarco has pending serious business but...please make this fight. This would be a great fight but I'd eat my boot if Broner destroys Demarco in any fashion. I don't think its in his mentality and not knowing what division he even wants to fight in let alone work hard enough to meet an agreement tells me that. He literally has not faced the level of experience or caliber a guy like DeMarco brings for me to understand why-how he to date gets such a pass on having to prove anything before some anoint him. I see potential, skill but the professional disregard as much as stance, admiring his work can't be expected to vanish if he doesn't get tested. Its a slow pitch over the plate but I do see PDL experience as relevant...only time 10 rounds...only world class faced not to mention southpaw as DeMarco and its basically the one and only time Broner was forced into a second gear and needing to adjust, and yeh...debatable win at that. He is very use to having things his own way and frankly looks easily distracted by his own presumption of greatness today for me to assume Antonio an easy mark tomorrow. Can't do it. Broner has to show me more because these flavor of the months can be a dime a dozen. DeMarco is easily overlooked and is a very sharp puncher with top notch timing, he starts slow but he is deceptive puncher and accumulates at numerous angles, and if he hurts you, he can finish you.

Good post but I do not agree on all points. The bold is a worry for me to be honest but I think the Ponce fight is very much over played and probably woke Broner up to the fact that you cant sleep on anyone. He probably figured he was about to face a heavy bag.

I think the hype is justified and for the most part not overdone. Talent like his does not burst onto the scene all that often. He seems to have it all albeit not being chin checked in abundance but if that carries on then that to is a testimony to his ability. I mean Floyd barely got punched in the face for an entire career. He's not a flavour of the month for me. I have followed this sport for an awful long time
and imho there is something special about this kid. And again I remind myself of your point if he keeps his head on.

Whats unique about the guy is how he uses that shoulder. Call it the Philly shell or shoulder roll whatever. Broner uses it while he seeks you out. That is quite different. Feet planted and wide stance almost completely behind the shoulder with a jack hammer jab and crazy right hand. I think he stops Demarco and that's why Oscar wont make the fight.

In a perfect world say like the mid eighties Broner and Gamboa would be facing off. Hell they probably would have already fought twice.

The thing is that when you wake up you tend to take things seriously, like showing up in shape, making a contract and not nearly being the cause of a card being scraped. I tend to think he's day dreaming as much as he's is awake after Ponce. He assumed things...his opponent, his career and his talent.

Agree, hype is expected but its a full blown fluffer session with ths guy as of late. The whole network approach to him is that he has 'arrived' and yells the cart out running the mule. Spot on with seeing talent but not being chin checked or facing a "woahhh shit" moment is a must before a guy can stake claim to world class. I remember Mayweather being rocked badly in his 5,6 fight and storming back. He accomplished three fold and more than a Broner has by his 26th go and based on that alone I ant see any comparrison. You can walk like him, wear his T shirt...but that dont make you Mayweather. Not to mention a questionable call vs Castillo, followed with needed rematch in next fight to clear the table with win. I'm wih you on the shoulder and an almost from the backseat defense waiting to counter-pounce. He looks like he is ready to sharp shoot but he needs to show it on a much higher level I think. Time will tell.

I'd like to see this as well. De Marco gave Valero a hell of a fight and we'd definitely see how good Broner actually is if the fight gets made. I don't think Golden Boy are going to take any chances with Broner's career and would be surprised if this fight got made, at least for a while anyway.

I do think Broner's a dick and I do think he's got the wrong attitude to the professional game but I can't think of any more talented up-and-coming fighter at or about the WBalphabet level. And since I'm a sucker for supremely gifted guys on their way up I'll be picking him to win whenever he eventually does face a serious test.
