    Default Is Nadal done

I know this is not the case but I am wondering how long he has left and what is the deal with his knee. He has just pulled out of the US Open and the knee has been nagging him for a while. I'm not a fan but I respect his talent and would hope he can return to form.

I like Nadal and respect his talent also. I don't know what's up with the knee... it's not the first time he's had problems with it. I think it's his "hell-on-wheels" style of play, especially on clay, which is finally starting to create some wear and tear. It would be bad for tennis if he drops off the radar, 'cause there's some great rivalries now and in the near future.

On the other hand, I'm an even bigger Federer fan. And I'm pulling for him to win one or two more majors, so he can put the career majors record out of reach. It seemed Nadal would overtake him, on the strength of his French Opens alone. But now I don't know.

He will come back, he had worse injuries before took some time off and came back and basically dominated the game beat Fed and winning Wimbledon. He will not last as long as Fed but he is still young enough to dominate the game again.

No time to verify now but Nadal is 26 and I think McEnroe and Borg won their last grand slams at 26. Now I'M JUST STIRRING THE POT

    Yes you are.

Nadal will be back and I will bring back this thread as a constant reminder of your stupidity.

Don't think he's finished but maybe only has a couple more years at top.

In his absence I can see Federer wining a couple of more slams. I think Fed's style has the edge on Djokovic's- as does Nadal's on Fed.

And I think Djokovic has the edge on Nadal so go figure !

One thing's for sure, with him out of the way Murray will only now have to beat one of them to win a slam. Beating two of them in three days was beyond him.

Is tehre any younger male prospects coming through ?!?

Not sure as far as prospects, however the American commentators seem convinced that it is only a matter of time until Tsonga becomes a grand sluam winner but he's already well known but just hasn't overcome that last hurdle(mentally imo) yet. In response to master.......CALM DOWN. I was just using an oppurtunity to quote an interesting fact I saw on an HBO documentary. Chill pill.
