I'd go as far as saying that 5 or 6 fights ago I was really excited when there was a Cleverley fight and was always looking forward to following him. Lost a lot of interest these days though and I quite simpy can't be the only one.

Remember reading a really good article on his potential and quality from Vivek Wallace a couple of years back, but that seems a real distant memory now. In some of his recent fights against Bellew and the Polish stand in fella, he genuinely looks like he is a knockout waiting to happen. When he hit top level he'll get smoked I reckon. Gets hit WAY too much and hasn't improved that, although there's still time for him to do so.

I reckon Warren quite simply isn't convinced he can beat the top tiers fighters, it's that simple.

The fight i would like to see (although extremely unlikely) is groves v cleverley. It's kinda the british equivalent of ward v dawson albeit the brit's are much greener! Both fighters IMO are the 2 best british prospect's (if we are talking about fighters about to mix it in world circle's) the UK has....Both are fantastic talents and i think both have a bright future in there respective divisions, i think cleverley would have to come down to 168 though.

I missed fenster's sarcasm as i am fairly new to the forum and don't know the nuance's of certain poster's yet.

In regards to cleverley though i do think he has the potential to develop into an accomplished, complete world-class performer. He has all the athletic gifts – size, strength, speed, underrated power (when his technique is correct). But he now needs that expedient, that element which will elevate him.

Cleverley could benefit immensely from a trip to the US. While it’s true that America is far from the only place to obtain useful sparring, its status as a diverse cultural melting pot means a fighter can observe and learn to combat several different styles – from trademark Mexican pressure to hair-trigger Cuban counter-punching and myriad approaches in between – in one place. It worked for amir khan.

All in all i think you'll see the best of Cleverly when he fights a decent opponent IMO.

    I'm not even slating Cleverly.

I'm slating the ridiculous notion that a "world" champion isn't ready for the best and the nonsense that comes from his team about everyone turning down fights.

Masquerading as a "world" champion is good for business but it doesn't mean hardcore fans should swallow that nonsense.

So do not listen to the team Cleverly as it is a load of crap. I think Bellow would take the fight and the reality is they have offered crap money to Hopkins and Froch is not interested in going up.

Well considering this is a boxing forum I thought it was suitable to highlight that crap and discuss these matters here. Sorry.

No need to apologise, except for being sarcastic.
