Yes, you are right, he looked terrible against Sharmba Mitchell 7 months earlier. And clearly at 35, with 33 fights (not exactly wars) he was a shadow! I wonder what happend in those 7 months between what critics called his best performnace (against the bookies favourite, who was unbeaten in 10 years, apart from an injury stoppage against Tszyu in their first fight) and the Hatton fight that made him deteriorate so much?

P.S How could Corrales be 'prime in a.) in 2003 after he had already been destroyed by Mayweather and B.) Tszyu went into the Hatton fight having fought only 3 rounds in 3 years and coming off shoulder surgery. He had 33 pro fights and damn near 300 amatuer fights. And it still took the help of a bias as ref for Hatton to win

And yes you are correct. Corrales acomplished nothing after getting destroyed by Mayweather. Besides beating Acelino Freitas and Jose Luis Castillo that is.
