Default Vitali Klitschko says he won't be fighting again

Vitali Klitschko says he's not going to box anymore.

He's retiring from boxing to pursue his political career.

David Haye should try for a rematch with Wladimir. He could fight someone like Boytsov and position himself as the WBO mandatory.

This is good news, he didn't look good against Charr, so this is the perfect time for retirement. Whatever the WBC does, there are plenty of fans who won't agree. Let's hope their plan will give us a champ soon.

Good idea. He definitely looked older and slower against Charr. He has nothing left to prove at this point in his career. There's nobody out there that would really add to his legacy (his brother already embarassed Haye), so all he'd be doing is risking "getting old" in a fight and taking a beating from a guy who wouldn't have lasted 4 rounds with him 5 years ago.

Vitali had a remarkable career. He dominated the division, he and his brother made history, and he has a Hall of Fame record.

Wladimir will no doubt go after the WBC belt once it's vacated and I'm assuming should all go to plan we will see Wladimir Klitschko vs Cris Arreola (providing Wlad beats Mariusz Wach) in the unification bout and after that Wlad will have his pick of opponents: Seth Mitchell, David Haye II, Tomaz Adamek, Alexander Povetkin, Kubrat Pulev, Tyson Fury, Odlanier Solis, Robert Helenius, David Price, etc.

Wladimir can make a run at Joe Louis' record of title defenses

Expected it! Watch haye (who was offered numerous contracts to fight vitali) go round calling vitali a ducker and a runner now lol.

Have a great retirement champ, when the dust settles ppl will appreciate u more. It's been a pleasure watching u. Legend!

    Respect.

    Fair play to me.

Hope he is serious about having a serious impact into a less than pleasant political system.

As I have said in another post Haye should hope Vitali wins the election then either Vitali retires and vacates the title for him to fight or Vitali will spend less time focussing on boxing and Haye can pull off the upset similarly to Bradley against Pacquiao.

You are not suggesting that Timmy actually beat Manny are you?

Haye will no doubt increase his roar now and probably suggest he is ducking him. I think Wlad will now seek this belt out to be the first big 3 undisputed champ since Lewis and the first unified 4 belt champ ever.
