Poor Malignaggi. If only he had just a LITTLE BIT of punching power...
I had it 8-4 for Cano with a knockdown, which made him the winner by 5 points on my scorecard. Thought it was a robbery in all honesty suprised people scored it for Malignaggi. I thought he went to sleep after the cut, which was suprising and Cano went to work outworking and landing better shots than Malignaggi.
I honestly thought Cano won most of the rounds after the 2nd round, then i think it was the 9th and 10th Malignaggi comeback into the fight somewhat making it a bit closer. But then he was badly hurt and floored in the 11th and clearly lost the 12th round, which left no doubt in my mind Cano certainly deserved to win.
Malignaggi only got the decision so he can fight Hatton next year.

Cano by 2 rounds
Surprised so man had it for Cano. Thought he landed some good punches, but ate a ton of jabs and straight rights for his troubles.
That knockdown was big tho or shoulda been I suppose.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
I scored the rounds identical to you mate thought it was highway robbery.
As for your comment beenKOed, i just think it was basically agreed upon before. That Malignaggi would get any kind of decision so he can have the big money fight vs Hatton. Im being honest i'd never heard of Cano before this fight.
And Hatton vs Cano wouldn't generate the interest or the money, like the Malignaggi fight would. I think its pretty obvious in all honestly, the match was getting talked about before the Cano vs Malignaggi fight.
Do you think there going to have some unknown spoiling the fight ? its just like when Pacquiao got a gift vs Marquez so the big money fight vs Mayweather could happen.
I don't know the exact people who corrupt this and that, but i think its pretty obvious shady stuff goes on in boxing and this is just another case of that IMO.
I didn't remember Cano either until they said he was the kid that Erik Morales stopped for his 140 lb world title a year back or something.
That was actually a pretty good little fight. But, Erik was too FAST for him
And yet Paulie, a known fast and slick boxer squeeked by or many felt lost. Go figure.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
Wow, that's pretty nuts if Morales stopped him that recently, never saw that one. Was he cut in that fight as well and was it a legit TKO? Not that he's going to do big things in any case, but for such a young fighter to have that kind of scar tissue he'd be well served to get out of the sport before long. If Malignaggi had any pop at all or was able to really fight and go after the cut he would've forced a stoppage easily.
