Default How did you score Malinaggi vs. Cano ?

While watching this one, I was a little surprised that 3 of the 4 announcers had the fight for Cano.

Felt that Malinaggi was outboxing the kid for the majority of the early rounds, there were a lot of close rounds plus that knockdown so I can see Cano winning.

Personally had it 7 rounds to 5 for Malinaggi. 114-113.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

I don't think Malignaggi won that at all. Without the KD I had it a relatively close fight, but to Cano. With the KD I think you have a minor robbery. Malignaggi always complains about decisions, but it was telling seeing him talk like he did in the interview. Malignaggi looked pretty poor overall and was fighting a guy with one eye for a good half of the fight.

I find the prospect of Hatton/Malignaggi a bit pointless now. Hatton will just need to be 50% to beat this Malignaggi.

keep in mind that Malignaggi was fighting a guy who came in overweight...

True, but you only needed to look at the guy to see he wasn't carrying muscle. A bit like Morales really, just a tad less bloated. Hardly Mayweather against Marquez. Still, overweight is overweight, but Malignaggi could do nothing with a one eyed guy either.

Cano is a fighter who fights flatfooted. Hatton as far as he was, is a fighter who fights on his feet, gets close and messes you up. Paulie doesn't have the legs he used to, so even if Hatton has lost some of his own, 50% will do.

I agree, I can see both sides of this argument too.
It was pretty funny when Malinaggi started trashing ComPhewBox, I'm not sure we will see him announcing if he keeps doing that. That dipshit, Jim Grey, didn't know what to say when Paulie started on ComPuBox.
It was a good nite of boxing, with something for everyone. We had a shitty fight, a fight of the night, a bloody fight with a somewhat controversial decision, and a Hall of Famer staring into the face of old age. What more could you ask for?

Malignaggi is a hypocrite. He had a point before but now we will all say he is silly. He was rubbish in that fight. He wants Hatton. He doesn't deserve Hatton.

Poor Malignaggi. If only he had just a LITTLE BIT of punching power...

I had it 8-4 for Cano with a knockdown, which made him the winner by 5 points on my scorecard. Thought it was a robbery in all honesty suprised people scored it for Malignaggi. I thought he went to sleep after the cut, which was suprising and Cano went to work outworking and landing better shots than Malignaggi.

I honestly thought Cano won most of the rounds after the 2nd round, then i think it was the 9th and 10th Malignaggi comeback into the fight somewhat making it a bit closer. But then he was badly hurt and floored in the 11th and clearly lost the 12th round, which left no doubt in my mind Cano certainly deserved to win.

Malignaggi only got the decision so he can fight Hatton next year.

I'm not arguing with your opinion of the fight, but exactly who do you think paid off the judges to swing the fight in Malinaggi's favor?

What he said. 116-111 also. I gave Malignaggi rounds 1,2,8,9 btw.

Malinaggi is defo the easier route for kel Brooke or khan to win a welterweight title.he looked pretty shit against cano lacking in strength aswell as his usual poor punching power.
