The original Kronk actuallly shut down a few years ago. Detroit city council wouldn't spend any money on the building and wanted to put the rent up so Manny buggered off elsewhere. It's not a nice thing to say but Tommy Hearns had to sell off everything he owned a year or two ago to pay back taxes and he sounds like he's looking for the council to set him up in a new gym.

Everything in that gym including the sign and the ring will make it onto the memorabilia market toot sweet.

The real genius behind Kronk was Bill Miller. He even trained Emmanuel. He's dead, too.

He was the guy who sculpted James Toney, right? He did an amazing job.

Gotta love Tommy, but a financial brain isn't something he was blessed with. I read somewhere that the old Kronk Gym might be renovated and/or rebuilt, so we shall see.
