Jones beat an unbeaten James Toney , that in itself is a fantastic win.
Jones did fight some crap fighters but not to the extent of Calzaghe, who used to read the obituary pages to find his next opponant.

Prime Jones was something special. He just toyed with his opponents. I would say the same thing with a prime Whitaker. If you think about it, no one beat them in their prime. And I'm talking about convincingly, not something like a DQ or controversial decision which happened to both.

Agreed no one beats a prime RJJ at that time but he was not adored by all and even fans boycotted his fights because he did take the easy options some of the time. He could have taken on Dariusz Michalczewski in Germany and beaten him.
Prime Foster at light heavy and Spinks may have beaten him too.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

Everything is maybes.
Most fighters have their careers dotted with easy fights I cant think of many that havent got them in there, thats the business.
Roy wasnt a traditional tight fighter he was an exiting fast draw gunslinger with dancers feet that put him into position and made him seem faster.
This riles traditional boxers, and it shows in the ring cause they loose the plot. Same goes for the spoilers and for others who fight in a style that is out of the traditional mold.
Its something you wont get away with unless you are in your zone and at 100%.
True, but can you blame Roy for not going over there?
Roy was the champ, the undisputed #1, why should he go to Dariusz' home turf and risk a Sven Ottke-esque hometown decision?
I have to scoff at people who said he should have went to Germany, or England, or wherever to fight someone.
Roy was the #1 p4p, people should be coming to him, not the other way around.

He beat a past it, old crap jones and still got knocked down in the process!
JC being undefeated has caused him more trouble than good.
