If it makes boxing look so bad why are Boxnation (Frank Warren's home of boxing) showing it?

Personally I hope he gets sparked out (without getting seriously hurt of course).

David Price and Nathan Cleverly get first dibs over Fury.

I can't say I am terribly interested in this. Flintoff has been out of shape most of his life and now he wants to fight at 34? Maybe he can edge a couple, but his technique looks pretty poor. Fair play on wanting the challenge, but it is sad that it is getting so much attention. He doesn't deserve it.

I reckon people shouldn't knock him untill he has fought, I look Freddie and who can't like him. He was such a good character for English cricket and I would be made up for him if he delivers in the ring! I can't wait to see him in action.

The unsung hero's, of boxing are the fighters on the under card, with out them there is no main event,
so when some washed up CRICKETER, gets the limelight how sad.
Remember you may not see them on the TV, or hear there names but they are the bread+ butter of
boxing, to Fucked to play cricket , lets see I want to be a PRO BOXER, what a crock of shit.

He is just having a go at a trade that he has always admired.
He hasn't asked for any 'hype' but why would he turn down a decent paycheck/tv coverage? He wouldn't. Nobody would. You can have a go at boxing if you want. Nobody is stopping you.
As for all the boxers that aren't on tv and names aren't known, well, winning sometimes would change that.

Sorry to inform you but without a main event there is no undercard!!!! Main event comes first!

I can see it now..... promoters putting months of hard work in getting an undercard of 4 round fighters together and then at the last moment scratch their head and think to themselves....."now who will we get as the main event".....its illogical!

Freddie is helping other fighters not only gain a payday but also some exposure on what will be a hyped event. Works for everyone from where I sit.

Good luck to flintoff but the best outcome is if he gets knocked out.
    Sorry.

Yes, good thought......I cant believe I didn't think of this.

A guy who gives the sport hype, attention, brings in marketing dollars, gets punters in the door and gives other fighters exposure and media interest that they ordinarily don't receive.......yep,lets get him away from the sport and hope like hell he gets knocked out!
I can see your point........ best outcome for everybody, NOT!

This fight gives non boxing people the opportunity to see what we all see.....the more interest you can generate, the more the punters walk through the door and as a natural result more money is invested from sponsors and the sport starts to grow.

Lets not be so precious about welcoming perceived "non boxing people" into the sport that we love. If he is fit enough, tough enough and has all the characteristics of a good boxer then all credit to him. If he doesn't then I still say well done for climbing between the ropes and being gutsy enough to try the toughest sport in the world.

And when they watch mediocre boxing, and they leave disappointed then what.
Will they believe the hype, is the fight not going to be over hyped.

If you think this is a great opportunity, should this effort and attention not be focused on good fighters and good fights.

Or just sell the public some bullshit, or have hero freddy beat some bums and land a alphabet title.

Its about credible opponents. If the public thinks his just going to get spoon fed guys to make boxing money and make it more popular then that cant be right.

We will find out next week exactly what this all about and hopefully it all goes in the right direction.
