Williams looked real tight. But talk about some tough breaks. He was the opponent in the best performance of not only Ali's career, but Liston's as well. And he was shot 5 times by the Houston PD.

Cleveland "Big Cat" Williams, fought Ali for the world heavyweight boxing championship in November 1966, two years after being shot by a Texas State Trooper in 1964 while "resisting arrest". It left Williams with one kidney and a bullet lodged near his hip.

Williams, who lived in Houston, died there in the hospital on Sept. 15th 1999, of injuries sustained when he was struck by a car while crossing a street. The dude had a tough life, RIP "Big Cat".

    Was that in one incident?

one trip, five bullets. I believe it was a traffic stop gone wrong, though I'm far from certain about that.

well Clay was some master thats for sure. Fluıd lıke an ıce skater. Fast lıke greased lıghtnıng. Sharp stıngıng shots. Psychıng out hıs opponents. Tauntıng and belıttlıng them. What a force to reckon wıth ın there. Practıcally unbeatable. No---at thıs tıme he WAS unbeatable. Hıs energy was just ınfınıte. When I watch that clıp there, I thınk of Dominick Guinn, Sam Peter, Jameel McCline, Michael Grant, John Ruiz, Wladimir Who?, the Russians (Stalin/Lenin/Timoshenko/Lıakhovıch/Valuev/Adamek the Pole/the other Russıans/etc.), David Haye, Tyson Fury, Robert Helenius, Chris Arreola, etc.... (I wıll leave Vıtalı out as I thınk he ıs better than the aforementıoned)........when I thınk of them and then I see Ali......

    .........NO FUCKING CONTEST.
