Naw, just kidding. I just scratched it off my bucket list.

    Great kids.... check.
    Successful career..... check.
    Vacation in great places.... check.

Move up a notch on "what's-his-face's" list..... check.

I just hope for his sake he stays retired now.

He wanted to know if he could still have a go at it, and he got his answer.

When his bruises heal, I hope he doesn't start trying to rationalize it with a "maybe I should have had an easier opponent/tune up fight to get rid of the ring rust, maybe I should try again". He's had a lot of wars, best for him to stay retired now.

Wow. What a hero. When you watch that you can see why so many people love him.

I am glad he retired so quickly after the fight.

During his interview I was worried, I honestly thought he would end up trying to take his own life if he thought too much about it as he seemed so distraught

It's hard to watch one of your heroes in so much pain, I grew up watching the Hitman and I hope he is done and can move on now.

34? Froch is 35 and getting younger with a more wearing style!!
What's the difference cos it's not the weight.

    Once retired, always retired

    Once a champion always a ??

No idea what I'm talkin about, hella tired!

    Lifestyle.

Also the fact that Hatton was fighting hard fights younger than Froch.

It is the weight mate, the heavier the weight, the longer your career can be.

It's styles too. Hatton has been all about quick feet and workrate and once that tapered off after 4, Hatton was pretty much done.

Few fighters keep their legs at 35 and unlike Floyd who is losing his legs and is defensive, Hattons legs only work for an aggresive approach.

Froch doesn't really use his legs in the manner of someone like Hatton. We said years ago that the lifestyle and fighting style would catch up to Hatton and they did.

Hatton tried to redeem himself, but this time he also had time to contend with not only waning powers, but an increasingly fragile mind and a massively abused body.

Imagine if Hatton had kept himself in shape as a sportsman should.

Well I hope he stays retired, unlike some athletes who have no idea what that word means and come back shortly after. His lifestyle has been his biggest enemy and it finally caught up with him. I really hope his promotion takes off and he stays out of trouble.

Thumbs up Re: Hatton officially retires

This was good to hear from Hatton:

Despite the loss on Saturday, he insisted he had achieved his goal: "I'm a happy man tonight. I don't feel like putting a knife to my wrists."

"I have got the answers I needed. I can look at myself in the mirror and tell myself I did my best."

Now, be a man of your word Ricky, and have a great rest of your life, your friends family and fans will respect you for it.
