Heffron was out on his feet, the ref saw it right as he was closest and the man was defenseless. Vassell stopped punching as soon as he saw what damage was done to Heffron.

I think Vassell stopped punching because he thought Heffron touched down, which is also why I think the ref jumped in, then realised he hadn't and so stopped it as he couldn't give him a count.

Just watched it again, Vassell was busted up and really would of got hurt.
