Money-driven hype. That's all this is. JMM is going on 40, you can tell that his reflexes (necessary for his counter-puncher style) are already deteriorating. This was an excellent win, but unlike the Pactards who go ballistic when he beats an over-hyped Hatton or drained Cotto, we need to realize that JMM is fallible. I would love to see him fight one or two more up-and-coming belt challengers and then hang up the gloves. He's had a solid career, definitely in the same boat as the other Mexican legends. He deserves all the credit in the world for this win, but we need to remain realistic... not get sucked into the promotional hype.
I would say Mayweather, as defensive style boxers generally speaking are counter punchers and Mayweather does hit harder and is more accurate. Jim is...well think of it this way, if Manny got KO'd by THE best counter puncher it would make his defeat less...well it would soften the blow to say the least.
When he decides to get on a fighter's d***, he really rides it long and hard.
