David Haye - Retiring?

Has David Haye officially retired? I thought I read somewhere that unless he signed a Vitali Klitschko fight he was officially retired, but I can't seem to find the site. By the way, is it odd that he only will fight Vitali Klitschko when he lost to Wladimir Klitschko? I guess he's not rushing to avenge that defeat. Fair enough. David Haye does bring excitement to the table though and it would be fun to see him against an American or Price/Fury.

No he's not, he's still chasing the Vitali fight. He wanted the Wlad rematch but Wladf has told him there is no point as the decision was so clear. Vitali just wants to knock him out, which is the intrigue in the fight, and Haye knows that the payday would still be huge.

Haye will fight where the money is, personally I have no problem with that, it is a professional sport!

Personally I hope it happens soon because bloody Bluesq are still holding 90 quid of my Valuev winnings at 11/4 on Haye to beat Vitali and won't give me it back!

If the money is right and Haye fights Fury then its pick a round, if he fights Price then thats bloody interesting!

To be fair that's what he said after Wlad beat him yet he ended up taking the Chisora fight because "it's what everyone wanted to see" after their fight at the press conference. I don't believe he'll retire if he doesn't get the Vitali fight, I think he'll have another fight or 2 yet.

This is so true.

After the wlad performance, its pretty obvious he just wants one more big payday.

He will never fight price or fury as the money wont interest him.

Haye should rematch wlad..just to see if the toe injury played a part in it or not.

Haye does not deserve a rematch after the Wlad performance, the only way he can do it is to beat Vitali. As poor at Vitali has been lately he would never come in poor against Haye, he will smash Haye like he did Peters and adamek.

I think his plan is if he fights like he did against valuev and pot shot against an aging and slow Vitali he can pull off the upset. Wlad would then have to fight him, so he gets 2 pay days.

I personally think Hayes attention seeking as he always does. There's money to be made with Haye so why quit now? It's not like he's ever been badly knocked out and he's only lost to the best. Maybe he does still have a point to prove.

He says lots of things. I'm a Haye fan, but you have to take alot of things he says with a pinch of salt. Haye is a businessman first and a boxer second. If it makes financial sense, he'll take a fight. This is why he fought Valuev. He got a lowball offer off the Klitschko's so he walked away, took the easier fight against Valuev so he could use the WBA belt as a bargaining chip in Klitschko negotiations to get a bigger purse. He walked away from the first Wlad fight because Setanta (the company he had a massive TV money deal with) went under, and that was a significant chunk of his deal. He fought Chisora be. cause the brawl at the press conference generated massive mainstraim media attention, so people would pay to see it. It is all about business with Haye. If it makes money, it makes sense.

haye is always retiring or some otehr nonsense... he is just talking balls trying to get klitschko to send a contract he likes... haye klitschko would probably make the most money for vitali so haye is trying to scare him into thinking he will miss a big pay day... although I suspect vitali is rich enough already and it will be hard to fool him like this... but haye won't retire he's just going to live off his fame of beign the heavyweight saviour (:S) for as long as he can and when a good chance to fight a dodgy highly rated heavyweight comes up he shall take it so he can stay relevant... wouldn't be surprised if he fights chagaev

I don't think either Price or Fury would be able to do that. Vitali is more renowned than either ... I mean Vitali is still known as the dominant heavyweight in nearly the last decade and he's known for fighting in what many believe to be the last great heavyweight fight against Lennox Lewis. He and Wladimir are the biggest names in the division, bar none.

Most people know Tyson Fury because he punched himself in the face and because his first name is Tyson ... Both Price and Fury are limited in their popularity on a global scale ... the Brits know about them but who else? I doubt they are even that famous in their own native Britain. Haye vs. Fury/Price would be a big event in the UK but thats about it ... it probably won't even be as big as the Haye vs. Chisora fight. I don't know the numbers in terms of revenue for the Haye vs. Klitschko fight but I'm sure it trumped whatever the earnings were for Haye vs. Chisora.

I'd rather see Klitschko vs. Haye because Vitali might lose this one, especially after what happened in Haye vs. Chisora compared to Klitschko vs. Chisora ... I'm guessing that would be the incentive for most people to see that fight.

By prime I meant that he should be in his prime at this age.
