Check out a copy of Corner Men. It's a great book, made from many interviews with many esteemed trainers and corner man. Each chapter is dedicated to a trainer/cutman from their words. I really enjoyed seeing the picture that Charlie Goldman described when he talked about Stillman's.
Old boxing gyms are nostalgic, I fight it always fascinating to read what it was like back then.
If you hear a voice within you saying that I am not a painter, then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.

The aforementioned book is from the corner men's perspective. If you'd like to read things from the boxer's perspective I recommend reading In This Corner. The interviews are terrific, you can even pick up a few boxing tips, I liked what Jack Sharkey had to say about what learning was like in the gym.

Chris beat me to it. I didn't read Corner Men or In the Corner cover-to-cover, but read selected chapters. Great insight and stories!
