Oh right, yeah. It's just things were different back then, there were hardly any pro players. It reverted to a proper tournament format in the 60s, so Hendry is regarded THE man with 7 titlesDefending the title, you cannot count 15. Joe davis correct,it was more on a challenge basis back then.But in the record books
he is down as winning it 15 times,not his fault he beat everyone around in his era.

That's true, however, Joe Davis actually selected who could turn pro and who could not, and infamously stopped a brilliant player - Patsy Houlihan - from turning pro (Jimmy White among others will tell you Patsy was the greatest player ever)
