Froch contemplating Steveson defence

Adonis Stevenson looked the best I've ever seen him in beating one of my favorite fighters, Donovan George last time out.

He's fast, powerful and athletic. He could give Froch a run for his money, especially if Froch is looking past him.

I don't quite think Stevenson is in Froch's class, but he's def a more formidable foe than poor Yusaf Mack was.

Yes I agree with that it will be a much bigger test but with fights like Kessler and Ward on the horizon for Froch and with him getting older i think he should be thinking about those fights and not going down the mandatory route. If the Kessler fight can't be made then fair enough this is an option to be explored. But Hearn should be doing his very best to come to an agreement with Kessler to make this happen.

IBF say Froch can apply for a waiver to avoid Stevenson for now. Cheeky bastards get a fee just for an application though, and they can deny it.

I can see why Froch would fight him to keep a belt he has worked hard to capture and it is a mandatory and it will keep him active in anticipation for the bigger fights. However if this guy is too tough then it would be wiser for Froch just to vacate it for the Kessler/Bute/Abraham fights instead.

What I meant by that was that Froch is at the stage of his career where he needs to preserve himself for brutal fights that will make the most money. He will be willing to have brutal fights with Kessler and Bute but not with a mandatory.
