Roy will destroy Collins, at least Jones has been active. Silly and dangerous fight which is meaningless.

Collins is messed up in the head

He hasn't fought since 97 and now 16 years later wants to fight in a professional bout with an opponent who is still dangerous?

This fight won't even generate any money so I don't see any reason for him to do it

RJJ must've gotten punched one to many times in the head as well ... he should've retired 10 years ago himself

If they fought in the 90s he would've just been another bum that Roy embarrassed ... especially at 168. I didn't even know who this guy was or if he had ever won anything until I googled him ... he won a WBO strap at 168 but he's pretty much a nobody

You didn't know who he was? He dethroned Eubank, and beat him in the rematch. He beat Benn twice too. He was hardly a bum or a nobody just because you didn't know him.

I think after 16 years Collins might have a bit of ring rust! I think Collins will gas he is way to old to comeback and compete in the pro's.

Collins was a strong celtic warrior but Eubank and benn were not in there prime.

Benn was never the same after gerald mcclellan and eubank not the same fighter after the second benn fight, he might have won a few after but he was not mentally right.

Great start to 2013. First Malinaggi Mosley and now this atrocity. The hits just keep on coming.

Eh I honestly didn't know who he was ... I do remember him being brought up as a potential opponent for Roy maybe once ... maybe it would've been competitive then but now he hasn't fought in nearly 2 decades so there is no point

    This silly shit wont happen.

Dubai? They always schedule these freakshow matches for Dubai. Tyson, Holyfield, Naz, Roy have all been linked with spectacular comebacks in Dubai over the years, did they ever happen?

For a guy that hypes up Roy's resume and slates Floyd's, you are remarkably lacking in background knowledge on your hero's peers.
Collins was regarded by many as the number two fighter at 168lbs in late '95 behind Roy. Naturally Roy opted to fight former 140lb contender Vinny Paz instead.

Collins would have had the toughness and skills to stay with RJJ back in the day but would likely have lost a wide UD.

I can't see Collins winning this if it ever happens. Im sure he has been enjoying life since he retired and if he speaks to Hatton it takes more than a 3 month camp to get fighting fit. I can imagine him being horrendously slow, lacking any co-ordination but still able to take a beating until his body just can't take it anymore.

Will be a good build up and the fight might be entertaining, just going to enjoy it if it happens. Both old enough to make their own decisions and aint like they are saying they are going to be P4P stars afterwards. Collins obviously needs to lay something to rest for his own peace of mind.

DM was always brought up as the second best, not Collins.

Roy fought everyone that was available at the time ... he's not like Mayweather who conveniently decides its time to "retire" or take a "vacation" every time a new challenger arises, like Cotto back in 06/07. Mayweather decided not to fight Margarito for $8M and paid him $750K in "step aside" money.

DM was #2 at 175lbs. Collins was #2 at 168lbs as Bob stated. Where you cryogenically frozen in the 90's?
