Default The Gloves Are Off - Froch/Haye/Khan/Ogogo - Sky Sports?

Anyone see this? I thought it was a bit shit to be honest. Johnny Nelson, who I really like, is rubbish doing interviews. He spent 5 minutes asking a question and before someone got two sentences into the answer Froch, who was beyond annoying the whole show, would talk over them and change the subject.

However, I started the thread just to relate Johnny's story about being stuck in East Germany with no money or food, spotting some apple and pear trees from his window, and climbing out the building to nick the fruit. Brilliant. Johnny's little stories about his career were more interesting than the other four put together.

    Thoughts?

I watched it, when Johnny Nelson told the story about the apples and pears I was pissing myself, you can imagine him doing it. I thought it was alright, nothing too special but something different.

They put Johnny's story at the end because it was clearly the best bit. ()

I don't care about fighters out of the ring personalities, Froch doesn't bother me in the slightest, and I respect him massively as a fighter (he certainly proved me wrong numerous times), but in this format he was bloody jarring. It needed a proper interviewer (and obviously these were the edited bits)

I watched it on youtube today, not as good as I was expecting. Even though it was banter, Froch seemed happy to get in a dig at most of the others when he had a chance. I'm still a fan though. Groves would have been a better addition than Ogogo, no disrespect but he didn't have a lot to add to it maybe after a year as a pro he would havee been better.

The thing is with Nelson I feel he finds it hard to ask challenging questions to other fighters when he had plenty of times in his own career where he didn't perform too well.

Was something different and they have obviously taken the idea from these head to head things that the US shows do, can definitely be improved. Not really interested in what colour tiles Froch uses to decorate his house would rather see each fighter asked questions to make them squirm but in the same relaxed format.

"Froch you obviously struggle with slick boxer types as opposed to guys who want to mix it up, it will take more than having a granite chin and good work rate to topple Ward so how do you think you can adapt your style should you meet again?"

Not a great example but you get the jist.

That was good. Froch hates Khan and visa versa. Anthony looked in awe.

I haven't got time to watch the vid, but why do Froch and Khan hate each other?

First time I thought it was Eubank Junior instead of Ogogo. It was good fun and banter. Khan and Froch are not the brightest of people in the world. Haye is semi retired.

They should do another one but with different fighters like Eubanks Jnr, Groves, Degale, or Burns and Mitchell or Fury and Price.

Watched it yesterday ... Could have been so much better...where were the probing dirt digging questions...I'd have asked Khan about the recent incident where he bashed up those kids, I'd have got Haye talking about his past lifestyle and nights out...and would have got Froch going about when he got his bicycle stolen on that rough Estate he grew up on

I know he can be a knob At times but Steve Bunce would have made it a lot more interesting

    It was shite!
All this did was show me how arrogant they are! They even separate themselves from the public and that fucks me off!

They go on about the fans yet when they get swarmed in public the least they should do is sign things etc!
They should never forget its the fans that made it happen

The only time this show became even remotely interesting was when Froch made a comment about Haye's pathetic toe excuse after his equally pathetic performance against Wlad.

For a moment there I thought Haye was going to get some proper shit for it, but no such luck.

Pretty disappointing all round really. Still, the people around the table weren't exactly known for their wit or character anyway.
