Was Pavlik an over achiever or under achiever?

Over achiever before Hopkins, an under achiever after.
This is just my opinion, I've never read anything along this line, but I think he lost faith in his trainer and himself after Hopkins.
I'm not saying he would have beaten Martinez if he hadn't fought Hopkins first. I'm saying the Hopkins fight should never have happened, it was a capital error.

Agree. What I will say is that had it not been for his personal problems, be they caused by the Hopkins pasting or not, I reckon Pavlik would still be middleweight champion today. For that reason alone I believe he underachieved.
