Many have been mentioned that are certains, Joltin Jeff vs Pintor, Lewis v Bowe, Dempsey v Wills, LaMotta v Cerdan (I always thought that was somewhat in the works when fate found Cerdan early?), Esparragoza v Fenech, on and on. Solid calls

A few off the top Carbajal v Lopez too. Mark Johnson v Tapia was a real miss! Chavez v Whitaker II...draw my ass. Jones jr v Benn or Euabank or Darius. Hamed v Marquez. Lt Hvy Michael Moorer v P.C Williams or Hill. Canizales v Galaxy. T Norris v Julio C Vasquez...I think that would have been a train wreck of a solid scrap! Brandon Rios v any available Hummer truck?
On the Cerdan v La Motta rematch I think Cerdan was actually on a flight to America to fight la Motta when the plane crashed, so yeah it was a definite goer until fate stepped in as you say. So a vastly different reason for not happening from say leonard v pryor

I wouldn't mind finding more on Cerdan at all. Jake knew that left was gimp and from what I've seen Cerdan had a very decent, sneaky left hook. He was built like a tank, too bad it all ended badly & early for him.

Cerdan would have won on points.
