There is a lot of rubbish talked about the Vlad versus Haye fight, mostly from people who weren't there. I was.

The organisation at the arena was disgraceful, Haye was kept waiting, in the pissing rain, while 10 minute videos of Vlad were shown, everything possible was done to hype him out of the contest, he deserved credit for actually getting into the ring, any normal human being would have told them to poke their pathetic show, credit to David he did not want to let the travelling (as opposed to armchair) fans down.

It was a difficult fight, on a wet and miserable evening in a shit stadium in a shit part of town with no parking within a mile. Vlad made best use of his assets and won fair and square in the ring, organisation, behaviour and gamesmanship outside the ring were disgraceful, but they don't show or tell that to the armchair warriors.

It is not on the jaw but @TitoFan check 0:50 seconds in and that is a flush shot connecting. The problem is ,to do so, Haye is leaping up and sacrificing his power. Much too low a work rate and yes Haye is easily distracted and not IN LOVE with boxing, but the way people have written off his talents is as much to do with the unrealisitic HYPE job he did promo wise ,pre fight, and we should all know by now that many boxers have and will continue to do that.

I saw that... it was in the 3rd round, I believe. Wlad was moving back, but still caught a roundhouse right on the face. As much as I was disappointed in Haye's effort, with all the pre-fight hype and all, I was also disappointed in Wlad's. The amount of ground he covers while leaping back from a punch, arms flailing, is amazing. He must travel half the ring in a single bound. Some call it defense. Oh well... And yeah... it'll take a guy of similar size (and with the will to fight) to test Wlad.

Haye would have more fans (and win some back) if he had a different attitude toward boxing. You're either all in or all out. This BS of "it's either the Klitschkos or nothing", is detrimental to a division that hardly needs any more negativity. No one doubts Haye is talented... but talent alone won't get the job done.

@TitoFan well said the only klitscho attitude really gets on my nerves from haye, and if he doesnt get to fight vitali.... Because as of right now a wlad rematch is not sellable, haye will lose loads of credit and legacy. He will forever be known as the heavyweight who couldnt beat the best, which is a shame because i think hes been very exciting to watch.

Haye knew they would do all that before he signed. Hayes performance was poor. He was relying on one big shot.

I love how you don't even refute anything about the way Haye actually fought, even though you saw it live. I didn't realize Haye had to wait 10 minutes and there was no parking around the arena though, that really does add some perspective
