Oscar Pistorius shoots girlfriend

Anybody been following the hearing today? His version seems a bit weak to me, you'd have to be ridiculously paranoid to wake up in the middle of the night, hear a noise in the bathroom and jump straight to "it must be a burglar", especially knowing your girlfriend was staying over.

Even then, he said he got the gun and started shouting for the person to come out and for his girlfriend to call the police. Surely she'd have said something at that point to let him know it was just her? I struggle to see how he can not have known at any point during the whole incident that it was her in the bathroom.

My guess is they had a lovers spat (it was valentines day) she locks herself in the bathroom, he goes ballistic when she won't come out and he starts firing though the door. None of what Pistorius says makes any sense, like why would a "burgler" lock himself in the bathroom?

Right, it just doesn't make much sense. He hears a noise in the bathroom and doesn't take a glance at the bed to see if she was still there?

When he went back to grab the gun from under the bed he didn't realise that she wasn't there?

She didn't answer back when he's screaming at an intruder to get out the bathroom?

It doesn't add up.

I think what you said, about him going crazy after an argument seems more likely. I guess we'll find out soon enough, they were saying earlier today that they expect it to go to trial within a year.

Robber: "OK, well the good news is I'm finished....but I'm afraid you hit the toilet paper....soooooo, yeah if you could be a lamb and go get me an extra roll that would be great, thanks"
