I grew up drinking wine with my parents. Not sure when it was introduced but there is usually a bottle of Port in their home.
Most bad government has grown out of too much government. Thomas Jefferson
I like a good wine with a meal, but after I've eaten (especially if I've slightly overeaten) I like something that will help "close the deal".
That's where a Sambuca or a Cointreau straight up comes in handy.
Depends what I'm having...
Appetizers and hearty food - Boddingtons, Hofbrau Heffeweizen or Blue Moon.
Actual dinner like steak, lobster etc. - Leffe, New Belgian Fat Tire or Blue Moon (Belgian White)
Socialize and Lounge - Cosmopolitan, Red Headed Step Child, Cadillac or Snake Bite
House Partys - Corona, Modelo or Victoria.
My 3 good friends are Don Julio, Jack Daniels & Johnnie Walker.
After a rich meal i like to have a Grappa , it settles the stomach .
Then its on to the Brandy or Whisky.
With Grappa you either like it or hate it , I like it and it is a great digestive after a meal.
Here is a very nice Grappa i drink alot.

I though Mick's effeminate drink selection warranted such a "swishy" response.
How's about Scotch...I'll take a nice Scotch after dinner or a Bourbon or an Old Fashioned or even a Martini.....but a Cosmo? You must have lost your damn mind Mick! Do you drink that with your pinky raised and your t-shirt tied in a knot to show off your abs Mick?
The daiquiri is manly if it's not the slushie bullcrap, a Mai Tai is manly enough, both are pretty much ONLY acceptable on a nice warm beach....but unless the only ever booze left on Earth is premixed Cosmos, there's no God damned reason for a straight man to drink that.....turn in your man card Mick!
