Personally, I readily admitted to Cotto's defeat as the fight was concluding. I don't let bias color my judgement. And this "sitting in the pocket" analogy is just ridiculous. Been watching too much football (or listening to Teddy Atlas).
He totally fought down to Cotto's level to try to make a more exciting fight (like he mentioned). I love Cotto, but he's not (and never was) near Floyd's level.

I hope you, Finito, and VD don't mind... if I'd rather hear it from the main source.

I said the outcome of the fight was never in doubt. I never said Mayweather fought down to Cotto's level. Those are two different things, stupid.

I had the fight 117-111 Mayweather. What you score it?

Not too much different, dumbass. 116-112.

I thought De la Hoya was very competitive in the Mayweather fight and took him to "the brink" in the SD win for May. But then again I might be BIAS.

First of all, Cotto never took floyd to the " brink ".. haha c'mon seriously. That's such an exaggeration..

The thing is, Floyd fought down to Cotto's level and his style and pretty much fought in the pocket througout the fight yet Cotto still couldnt damage him..

Just as Floyd did against Mosley, he fought Cotto's fight and still kicked ass!! That's what's so great about floyd.. He fought out of his comfort zone and he still toyed with cotto..

The only fighter who took Floyd to the edge was none other than Castillo..

What Cotto did was nowhere near what Castillo did and that was against a young Floyd..

I have Puerto Rican buddies who always claim that nonsense and i always laugh hard..

Floyd was never in any type of danger when he fought Cotto..In fact he was so comfortable, dude didnt view Cotto as any kind of threat that he decided to sit in the pockets which was so unlike him...

Cotto didn't do nothing... OScar Delahoya was more effective against Floyd than Cotto ever was..

Trout's southpaw style will give Alvarez nightmares! He ain't never fought a significant southpaw.

I also feel Trout is very good at creating distance, couple that with his jab & I see him frustrating Canelo & disrupting his combos

I feel Saul will be too strong for Trout and walk through him. Canelo will win on points at least.

    Fair enough that's opinion

But are the Canelo fans worried that he has never been tested against a decent southpaw?

Cause Trout is all kinds of difficult...

I have been converted and have slowly been impressed with Saul. GBP want him to be the next big thing in boxing and so they have to step him up against better competition. If Saul wants to become a PPV star he has to fight the best out there to prove it. This is the right time and he stands to become the first man to beat Floyd if he beats Trout convincingly.

I have also noted Canelo's gradual improvement

But again the only lefty I can think of him fighting was Rhodes

I do not think he is particularly vulnerable to southpaws, he has to fight all types of opponents and develop quickly. If he is to have any chance of fighting Floyd he has to beat Trout convincingly to generate interest in their fight.

Trout is faced with a younger version of Cotto.

I have a few issues with Canelo

    1. Goes to sleep in rounds for well over a minute
    2. Can be easily hit
    3. Though he cuts off the ring well enough, he can't really punch on the move
    4. Lacks a credible jab

Of the four I listed I believe his lack of offensive output and lack of a good jab will get him spanked in the early rounds and he has to climb out of a big scoring hole later on in the fight just to break even. Also I really think he might have a stamina problem.

Dang, I don't know how Canelo has won any fights.
I hope the best fighter they both can be shows up. I like them both, Alvarez for his fighting spirit, speed, his body work, power and his basic respectful manner to all his opponents. I like Trout for his basic respectful manner to all his opponents, the way he outfought Cotto--he really did take the fight away from Cotto--the way he sticks to his fight plan, listens to his corner and he is a Texan which means he's USA all the way.
USA all the way, sounds really good to me. I like it, a lot!
