Biggest fight of the year? 2013.

If Mayweather fights Canelo, that'll be considered the biggest fight of the year as there will be a huge media frenzy surrounding it.

Froch-Kessler II is huge and a close fight on paper.
Floyd-Guerrero is huge.
Martinez v. Junior II is huge.
Martinez v. Murray is huge in Argentina.
Klitschko v. Povetkin will be huge in Germany if it happens.
Donaire v. Rigo is a huge and a close fight on paper.
I imagine Soliman v. Geale is huge in AUS.
Broner v. _______ is huge.
Matthysse v. Peterson is pretty big.

Froch vs Kessler is a huge fight worldwide, 2 of the best in the division. I disagree that this fight won't have interest outside of Europe.

Rigo fight is big

Burns vs Vasquez is big because it's a unification but some shine is taken off it by the fact that Broner is considered the best by most regardless of the result.

Haye vs Klitschko (if it even happens) should be big but may not be due to Hayes showing last time against WK and the fact he fights less often than than the local piss head in a kebab shop on a Saturday night.

Floyd fights are always big events.

Pretty much the same as what the everyone else has said. I have to say in terms of big fights and what it can lead to in the division then Froch v Kessler gets it. Winner can aim for Ward thus setting up another #1 vs #2 in the division. That's what a big fight in boxing means for me.

Couldn't give 2 fucks about money generated, PPVS, Crowds, and all that bollocks. best fights are 2 evenly matched guys putting it all on the line and moving on to another huge fight where it doesn't even matter if there's a belt involved.

Froch vs Kessler is by far the biggest fight. Haye and Tyson Fury would be cool but not on the same level.

Carl Froch - Mikkel Kessler 2 and I think Canelo Alvarez - Austin Trout is the other biggest fight thats been made because the winner will probably fight Floyd, and thats the other biggest fight that will be made this year. But Alvarez - Trout is massive, both are undefeated fighters and are great prospects, its make or break for both of them and whoever wins, that will be a massive win for them.

That actually crossed my mind when I was typing so it's a fair point.

Only reason I didn't mention it is that Froch has already fought Ward and although he got beat fair and square it was plain to see he started too slow and there was a lot he could do differently in a rematch should he get one. (Of course Ward would be a huge favourite and it is only right that he is considered to be head and shoulders above the rest).

Also I consider SMW to be one of, if not the most competitive division of the last few years so another big fight only makes the division stronger.

Yea definitely think the super 6 has a lot to do with this. They should definitely try to get more of these type of competitions going. The Super Bantomweight one was good too and would love to see a middleweight one in Britain with Macklin, Lee, Barker, Murray, Saunders and Ryder.
