I would imagine from Ali's fathers point of view it was more disrespectful for his son to change his name from Clay to Ali , but then Ali's selfishness and ego even outweigh his boxing talent

He is, I did an Internet behavioral study in uni and one of the stereotypes was people who say things like "peasant" or just generally talk down to others, by saying things like what he said about "don't know how you can afford Internet"

This almost always meant that the person was a loner with little social skills and from a generally poor or deprived upbringing.

He fits the bill almost exactly.

I'd also bet his education is poor, A level at absolute best.

Wish to be you? An idiot that has the intelligence level of my children? Not to disrespect but I mean this in all seriousness, if I were to become you, I'd launch myself off the nearest bridge to my death.

Then again if I were you and I did that I'd probably fail miserably.

You must remember it's the 70's, Ali had been disrespectful of Frazier by calling him a Gorilla, Joe
had helped Ali out, and Joe is repaid back by Ali in that manner that's disrespectful is it not.
