But you could also say Sanchez was young and would of got better, i suggest you watch Sanchez vs Gomez/Nelson/Lopez 1 and 2 all great fights.
Agreed that Sanchez would have got better in his lone loss & draw he was dropped in both fights, but he improved with each of those fights & fought with the heart of a champion to the final bell

Maybe outside the ring influences played a part in the lead up to some of his fights?

    What do you mean?

They sure played a part in his death. In Sals day it was still not a career ender for a prospect to lose one or two and the sacred "0" of today. And wow did he ever learn from those two setbacks eh.

Sanchez & JC Chavez would have happened (most likely at 135) had that tragic accident not taken Sanchez's life (age 23) and THAT my friends would have been a fucking WAR!

At the time El Arguello was trying to get Sal to jump to 130 shortly after he won feather and Sal's people asked Alexis to come back down to 126. We never had the internet in those days but I remember this quite vividly. They were pretty close to making the fight at 130 prior to Sals untimely death. Alexis had already moved to 135 so it was a half way thing.
